Angela Curtis: Director -Angela received her early training from the Ballet West-Christensen Academy, studying under the direction of Tenely Taylor, Sharee Lane, Carol Kroeshe, and the master Willam F. Christensen. As a student at the school, she was asked to perform in many ballets including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and the opera, Aida. With the desire to share her love of dance with others, Angela started teaching ballet while still a student with The Ballet West Academy. After graduating from high school she was offered a teaching position with The Ballet West Academy and taught there for 4 years. At Ballet West she had the opportunity to participate in the Cecchetti Syllabus class under the direction of Denise Shultz. Angela continued her dance training at the University of Utah in the Ballet Department with a teaching emphasis. While attending the U, Angela taught for many schools across the Wasatch Front from Provo to Ogden. In 1989 she opened C&C Ballet Academy. Wanting to create classical performing opportunities for her students, she founded the non-profit South Pointe Ballet Company in 2002. Under her direction, the company has produced Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Cinderella, Peter and the Wolf, and most recently The Nutcracker with the Herriman City Orchestra. Angela participated in the Utah Jr. Miss program as well as the Miss Utah program as a representative of Riverton City. She continues to support these programs as a choreographer, individual coach, and judge while helping young people share their talents and earn scholarship money to continue their education.
